[K-Pop Battle] 2PM’s Junho Beats MBLAQ’s Lee Joon
The votes have been tallied, and our readers have declared 2PM’s Junho to be the real Rain 2.0!
The battle began as a close competition between the two boy band members, but 2PM’s Junho wound up winning by a distinct margin, pulling in 60 percent of the 6,202 total votes cast last week, while Lee Joon trailed behind, garnering 40 percent of readers’ votes.

[News] KTO’s ‘Touch Korea Tour’ videos featuring 2PM, miss A, and Korea’s biggest fans goes public!
Idol groups 2PM and miss A who are at the forefront of the Hallyu Wave took off on a special trip with K-pop fans from all over the world to find hidden gems around the Korean peninsula.
As honorary ambassadors of KTO, 2PM and miss A participated in the ‘Touch Korea Tour ” hosted by KTO this past June. ‘Touch Korea Tour’ was KTO’s 2012 official global campaign which provided a special opportunity for K-pop fans to thoroughly experience Korea inside and out.
The few selected fans were separated into three different themed groups: ‘Fun Tour’, ‘Gourmet Tour’, and ‘Style Tour’. Each team was able to enjoy various tourist attractions according to the group’s theme during the memorable 6 nights and 7 days in Korea.
The ‘Fun Tour’ team consisted of 2PM’s Junsu, Wooyoung, and miss A’s Min along with 5 fans from France, the US, Australia, Indonesia and Malaysia. They enjoyed various activities such a water taxi ride along the Han River to enjoy Seoul’s waterscapes, and learning more about Korea’s traditional percussion quartet, Samulnori.
The ‘Fun Tour’ team was then divided into two groups as the ‘True Blue Team’ with 2PM’s Wooyoung and Junsu, and the ‘Red Power Team’ with miss A’s Min. Each team learned how to play the Kkwaenggwari, Janggu, Buk(Korean traditional drum), and Jing to perform a full Samulnori performance. Junsu, Wooyoung, and Min all attempted to play the Janggu and made numerous mistakes while practicing, but the overall performance was absolutely successful.
2PM’s Junho and Chansung along with miss A’s Suzy participated in the ‘Gourmet Tour’ along with 5 fans from Japan, Singapore and the US. They were divided into three groups and each of them made their favorite Korean dishes. Each team played a game called “ladder shuffle” to choose which kind of dish they would make. The teams chose between ‘Royal Tteokbokki’, ‘Japchae’, ‘Haemulpajeon”, and soon made their way to the supermarket to prepare the ingredients for their dishes.
Although Suzy’s team had a difficult time keeping the Korean rice cakes from becoming one huge lump while preparing the Royal Tteokbokki, they displayed their culinary skills and in the end created a delicious dish. Suzy gave cooking tips to her team, and spoon-fed her members when enjoying the final product.
Junho’s team showed great teamwork by designating certain roles and also made sure to carefully watch their time while boiling their noodles to make their dish, Japchae.
Chansung’s team accidentally dropped their dish Haemulpajeon on their first attempt, but received an ovation after successfully creating a great dish in the end.
2PM’s Taecyeon along with miss A’s Fei & Jia participated in the ‘Style Tour’, along with 5 fans from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore, as well as their team leader, ZaiZai. They enjoyed touring the trendy streets of Chungdam-dong and Garosu-gil street, as well as Korea’s famous department stores and fashion boutiques, where they tried on various Hallyu styles of fashion. Taecyeon, Fei, and Jia gave fashion advice to the fans and they enjoyed a full-fledged fashion photo shoot. Their team also enjoyed Korea’s signature summer dish Samgyetang, and the fans enjoyed their time with Taecyeon, Fei and Jia at the hottest cafés located in the trendy routes of Galosu Street.
All of the ‘Touch Korea Tour’ video episodes will be released starting September 21st [KST] on www.ibuzzkorea.com/touchkoreatour/eng/tour_fun.html. All of the episodes will be uploaded by October 5th [KST], and internet users will be able to place votes for their favorite teams until October 15th [KST]. The poll results will be posted on KTO’s interactive site on October 22nd [KST], and the team with the most votes will be invited back to Korea for the last week of October to spend more time with 2PM and miss A during the awards and win 25,000,000 KRW.

[News] Baek Ah Yeon was first intimidated by 2PM’s Junsu gifting her with “Always”
Rookie singer Baek Ah Yeon who is the first of her SBS ‘K-Pop Star‘ peers to debut as an artist was deeply touched by 2PM member Junsu.
Junsu gifted his JYP Entertainment junior Baek Ah Yeon with song “Always“, a track that he has personally written and composed. Not only that, he personally directed Baek Ah Yeon’s recording session and featured on the track with a stylish rap.
During an interview that took place with NoCutNews on September 6th, Baek Ah Yeon remarked, “I was a little intimidated because I had never met senior Junsu before, but he was an extremely friendly person. Because he is a composer as well as an artist, he personally demonstrated the idea he had in mind so it was a lot easier to understand.”
A representative from their agency added, “The 2PM members were thinking of what they could do for their junior artist who is just starting out her career, and decided to gift her with a self-composed track. We hope that with this gift, Baek Ah Yeon will be able to shine that much brighter”
Baek Ah Yeon has also began studying songwriting in order to become a singer/songwriter like Junsu. As of now, she is only writing down a few chords and mumbling on a recorder, but she is truly passionate.
“I would also like to gift my juniors with songs that I personally wrote,” she said. “One of these days, I would like to fill all 13 songs of a full-length album with the songs I wrote myself.”
She is also hard at work practicing the piano. This is because she would like to perform a song behind the piano, as a lot of fans remember her playing the keyboard for her audition on ‘K-Pop Star’.
“I think Baek Ah Yeon is to the piano, as a thread is to a needle,” she said. “Even until ‘K-Pop Star’, I didn’t realize I would be receiving attention for my keyboard, however, after giving it some thought, I realized I practiced singing more while I played the piano compared to MR tracks. I would like to show you more of the piano-playing side of me.”

[News] Shinhwa and 2PM Finish 'God of Victory'
"God of Victory" and the battle between Shinhwa and 2PM finished on a high note.
On the Sunday episode of "God of Victory," the battle between the two idol groups was continued. The final winner was 2PM.
In this episode, they continued their blood-thirsty competition. The score was 4:2 for 2PM and in a game called, "Breaking Chopsticks with Your Butt" they agreed that if 2PM was to win, that they would finish the competition.
In the game, Junho breaks an amazing 28 chopsticks which leads to 2PM's win. And that's how the final winner was decided.
3000 attendees bet on which team that they believed would win. After the last game, only 4 audience members were left and they played a game for them. If Shinhwa was to win, the audience member who cheered for them would win a car.
All in all, the 'Beast Idol Competition' ended with wins for both 2PM and the Shinhwa fans. Both teams finished the game on a high note and there was no real 'loser.'
Shinhwa, as promised, provided for 1000 2PM fans, who attended a 2PM concert, a meal.
The next episode will have KARA and SECRET face off.

[Entertainment] 2PM's Nichkhun inevitably appears on God of Victory
2PM’s Nichkhun recently appeared on TV.
In the September 9 episode of MBC’s God of Victory, groups Shinhwa and 2PM competed against each other. Nichkhun, who also appeared in the last episode, appeared in this week’e episode as well.
The production company for the show previously announced that they will edit Nichkhun, who is taking some time for self reflection, as much as they can. But since all members participated in the game, Nichkhun has to appear on the show.
Nichkhun arm-wrestled with Jun Jin, Min Woo, and Eric and earned victory every time. But he was beaten by Andy.
2PM finally won by beating Shinhwa 5 to 2 score. But Shinhwa won two games for four people so the people who were Shinhwa’s side received cars.
Nichkhun was driving his personal vehicle on July 24 and was involved in an accident with a motorcycle after drinking with other JYP artists. Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office announced that Nichkhun faced summary trials for drunk driving and was ordered to pay four million won.

[News] 2PM's Nichkhun Spotted Volunteering at a Welfare Institution for Children with Disabilities
Recently, it has been confirmed that 2PM‘s Nichkhun has been volunteering at a Buddhist welfare facility for the disabled for approximately two weeks now. After being charged with DUI, Nichkhun decided to take some time off for self-reflection. He wanted to give back to the society during this time and as a result, he decided to volunteer for children with disabilities. It seems like he chose this particular institution based on his own religious affiliation.
Nichkhun has been diligently visiting this institution daily for about two weeks to spend time with the children. However, no one knew about his community service during this time, as Nichkhun himself did not want his community service to be advertised publicly as the news could cause some condemnation from the public belittling his sincere efforts to give back to the society as a show or publicity stunt. JYP Entertainment respected such decision and helped him keeping his secret.
The institution was also very cautious and hesitant in discussion Nichkhun’s community service. An official of the institution commented, “He is just one of the volunteers. We cannot discuss any details about what he does here.” The employees at the institution also avoided talking about Nichkhun or some of them were completely aware of the news. The residents in the neighborhood also had no idea that Nichkhun has been visiting their community daily.
Nonetheless, the news regarding Nichkhun’s community service started to spread out online through SNS. Fellow volunteers at the institution wrote, “I saw Nichkhun during community service today. Apparently it’s 2PM’s fourth anniversary today. He did something meaning on a very meaningful day,” and “This is the welfare institute for children with disabilities. Nichkhun has been so sincere and diligent. He memorized every child’s name, fed them, and cleaned them.”

2PM‘s Nichkhun has decided to spend his time reflecting on his actions by doing community service.
It was recently revealed that the 2PM member has been volunteering at a Buddhist welfare facility for the disabled located in the Seongbuk district of Seoul.
The singer, who has gone through controversy this summer for driving under the influence of alcohol, previously expressed that he would take a hiatus from the entertainment industry to reflect on his actions. After contemplating on what community service he would volunteer for, he chose to work with disabled children.
Nichkhun has been visiting the care center and spending time with the children regularly since two weeks ago, showing that this is not a one-time charity stunt for the singer. In addition, it’s reported that Nichkhun may have chosen the facility as he is a Buddhist himself.
Many are noticing his secret act of kindness, but it was revealed that the singer did not want the news getting out publicly. Nichkhun chose to keep his volunteer work a secret as there might be backlash or negative public opinion. As a result, Nichkhun requested to volunteer in secrecy, and JYP Entertainment had agreed to respect his decision.
The staff of the facility seemed very cautious about speaking on the matter as well. One representative stated, “Nichkhun is here as any other volunteer, so it’s difficult to speak on the matter.”
In addition, other employees did not know the details of how Nichkhun spent his time at the care center, however, they did notice that he did not speak much. Neighborhood residents seemed unaware that Nichkhun had been volunteering although he had been visiting for two weeks.
Recently however, the news of Nichkhun’s community service has been spreading through social networking sites. A couple posts on an SNS site stated, “I saw Nichkhun volunteering today and just heard that today is 2PM’s 4-year anniversary. Nichkhun memorized each of the childrens’ names, helped them get washed up, fed them, and cleaned diligently~ He volunteered wholeheartedly,” and more.
The 2PM member’s DUI came as a shock to many fans who loved the singer. However, because the singer came clean about his wrongdoing and took time to genuinely reflect on his actions instead of trying to hide his mistake, many are noticing the sincerity in Nichkhun’s act of service.
In addition, as much as this volunteer act was one he began on his own will, the singer plans to continue until he feels at ease with himself.
Meanwhile, many fans are awaiting Nichkhun’s return with 2PM after his time of introspection.
