Henry winkler cousin richard belzer,Actor/director/producer Henry Winkler, best known as "Arthur ‘Fonzie' Fonzarelli" from Happy Days, is cousins with actor Richard Belzer, best known for playing "Detective/Sergeant John Munch" on both Homicide: Life on the Street and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Belzer had a small role in Winkler's 1982 movie Night Shift, and Winkler appeared on a 2002 episode of SVU.

Henry is the father of Max Winkler. Max's first onscreen appearance was as "Boy in Bathroom" in Cop and ½ (1993), which Henry directed. Max is also a writer and director whose credits include the 2006 short film The King of Central Park, starring Henry. Henry's wife, Stacey Winkler, has had a couple of small acting roles and worked in the casting department for the 1995 film Safe.

Richard's wife, actress/producer Harlee McBride (1977's Young Lady Chatterley), appeared with him in 1983's Likely Stories, Vol. 3. They married in 1985. In 1989, she appeared in the music video for Mike + the Mechanics: A Closer Look, in which Richard starred. She appeared as Marilyn Monroe in Richard's 1997 HBO comedy special, Richard Belzer: Another Lone Nut. From 1994-1999, she played medical examiner "Dr. Alyssa Dyer" in his show Homicide: Life on the Street. In 2007, Harlee produced the short film Le viager, starring Richard.
