Veronica mars movie 2013, Ryan Hansen has become the latest in a long line of Veronica Mars stars who will be returning for the forthcoming movie.
Three hours after announcing that Krysten Ritter will reprise her role as Gia Goodman, creator Rob Thomas sent contributors to the film's Kickstarter campaign another email saying Hansen will return as Dick Casablancas.
"In the video that launched our Kickstarter campaign, the first person you saw on screen was Ryan Hansen, just sitting in Kristen’s living room and laughing. At me, it turned out," Thomas wrote.
"Almost a year and a half after directing Ryan in that video, it's a relief to admit what many of you have suspected all week: Ryan Hansen will return as Dick Casablancas."
Hansen played Dick, Logan Echolls' (Jason Dohring) friend and one of two sons in one of Neptune's wealthiest families, in 52 of the show's 64 episodes. He became a regular in season two of the show, which aired from 2004-07 on The CW.
Hansen went on to co-star in Starz's comedy series Party Down, which was co-created by Thomas. He also had a multiple-episode arc as Candy Andy on CBS' 2 Broke Girls.
"I am so excited to be a part of the Veronica Mars movie," Hansen said in a video posted on YouTube, thanking fans for their support. He added that Dick started out as an "extra" with only one word.
He then spoke about how his heart "feels like it's gonna explode" before busting out into a comedic dance routine. Kristen Bell then interrupted and joined in on the action.
Of the video, Thomas wrote, "Trust me, I want you to see this. Probably more than once." (Watch below.)
Hansen joins fellow stars including Bell, Dohring, Percy Daggs III, Chris Lowell, Tina Majorino andEnrico Colantoni in the movie, which goes into production next week.
